Wednesday Review

Thibault to Pittsburgh. I think Craig Patrick should get a medal for landing Thibault for a 4th round pick. In my opinion Thibault is a much better fit for the Penguins than Sean Burke ever could be. As a friend of mine put it (a Flyers Fan), Sean Burke as a starting goalie is definitely a reach at best, and could become the weak link for Tampa. We'll see.

Lindros: Apparently the Leafs are in the hunt tonight, but it may have hit a snag due to the cap implications. Columbus which was much more serious than I could have imagined has pulled itself out of the running and signed Jan Hrdina instead for 1 yr/1mil. A deft move by the Jackets because of the solid 2 way playing ability of Jan. He has played with Lemieux, Jagr, Lang, and Kovalev and has never once looked out of place. He will definitely add to the skill level of the Blue Jackets and make the club much deeper up front. Should help Nash with the plus/minus stat, and should gel very nicely with Czech countrymen Vyborny.

If the story about the Bruins leaking details of the Thornton contract offer to add pressure to Joe to accept their offer is true...that is bush league. Because if he doesn't accept it, the Bruins fans will crucify him the minute his production is down or if he suffers an injury (they'll say he's soft, which is B.S.). Should be interesting to say the least.

And in the biggest news of the day...Wayne Primeau (a.k.a. Mr.Confusion) re-signed with the Sharks. Does anyone else think he looks perpetually confused?
