Tuesday night thoughts....
A few names still out there, namely Eric Lindros. I was surfing around and saw a rumor that the Columbus Blue Jackets are in the hunt for Eric if a deal is unable to be reached with the Leafs. I doubt it is true, but that would be an interesting pickup for MacLean. But, before you do, let's say for the sake of argument, he stays healthy....
He could be add size to a team that SORELY needs it. In addition he brings name recognition to the peripheral fans in the Columbus market and could sell a few additional tickets.
We saw Sean Burke signed by the Penguins, and then it was too early to confirm...then all of a sudden he's a member of the Lightning. Most of the people on letsgopens.com, seem to be rather upset about losing out on a 38 yr. old goalie, and I cannot figure out why?
Bertuzzi issued t a letter to Canucks fans thanking them for the support. Curiously absent was the name Steve Moore. Hmm.
Eklund and Hockey Leaks continue to rant that GM's are going to start signing players to offer sheets even though it's going to cost them draft picks. Only 2 players in the NHL today are worth signing to offer sheets; 1. Joe Thornton 2. Jarome Iginla
I just don't see it happening.
Comcast has submitted a bid to put the games back on cable this year through the OLN channel (or as my cousin says, The Lance Armstrong Network). Isn't OLN supposed to focus on Outdoor Life. It's kind of like putting Ellen/Oprah on Spike TV, or Viva la Bam on the Oxygen Network. Oh well beggars can't be choosers and they offered a fairly lucrative package so it will be nice to see games on a few times a week if you can't afford Center Ice.
